Genji’s new mansion, Rokujoin has four districts. The south-east Tatsumi area is for Genji and Murasaki-no-Ue with the garden of cherry and plum trees to taste in spring. The north-east Ushitora area is for Hanachirisato and Yugiri with the image of summer arranging waterside, citrus, dinanthus and bamboo. The south-east area called Hitsujisaru is a house of Rokujono Miyasundokoro and designed for Akikonomu-Chugu to rest on her rest with the image of autumn leaves and waterfalls. And the north-east Inui area is for Akashi and with a garden of pine trees that looks perfect with snow scenery.

町は源氏と紫の上の住まいで桜や梅など春を思わせる庭を造った。丑寅（うしとら・北東）の町は花散里と夕霧の住まいで夏を感じさせる水辺や橘、撫子、竹を配している。未申（ひつじさる・南西）の町は六条御息所の邸宅の跡のため、秋好中宮の里下がりの場として秋らしく紅葉と滝の庭。戌亥（いぬい・北西）の町は明石の君の住まいで、冬の雪に映える松の庭であった。
